Chai, the Hebrew word for life, is one of the most enduring symbols in Jewish tradition. In this sculpture, I sought to move beyond the written word, giving the symbol physical presence by transforming it into a contemporary sculptural form.
Cast in premium resin, the piece has a smooth, refined finish that captures light with subtle depth and clarity. Its compact scale allows it to sit naturally within the home while carrying the quiet presence of a larger work.
Having grown up in a Chassidic environment, these symbols were woven into everyday life. This sculpture is my way of reinterpreting that heritage through a contemporary artistic language, allowing an ancient idea to find its place within modern spaces.
More than a decorative object, this work is a reflection on life, resilience, and continuity. It is intended to serve as a lasting reminder of the enduring meaning carried within the simple word: Chai.
